Inn History

The home's original owner was Elisha Doane, known as Squire Doane, who was for a time the wealthiest man in Massachusetts. He owned shares in numerous sailing vessels and operated the Doane Tavern, which is just located a few doors down the road. Upon his death, Squire Doane left the home to the First Congregational Church, at which time it became a parsonage. The home’s role as a parsonage had long given it a place of importance in the community as weary traveling pastors would find it a convenient stop over on their travels down the Cape.
Today this charming, historic bed and breakfast still welcomes world-weary travelers, providing a pleasant place to escape the stresses and demands of daily life. Planning a trip to Cape Cod? We invite you to come relax and enjoy the Inn's hospitality for awhile.
